Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat SW-303 Manganese Wash in a circular motion to the front of SB-106 Rimmed Bowl and SB-105 Rimmed Dinner Plate using a banding wheel.
  3. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of SW-303 Manganese Wash to the outside of SB-100 16oz. Mug with horizontal brush strokes. Leave a ½ inch border around the foot of the mug unglazed.
  4. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SW-108 Green Tea to the front and back of SB-106 Rimmed Bowl and SB-105 Rimmed Dinner Plate in a circular motion using a banding wheel.
  5. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SW-103 Green Tea to inside and outside of SB-100 16oz. Mug. The first coat on the outside of the mug can be brushed down to the foot. It is important to recede the subsequent coats an inch each time! If you do not recede the coats, the glaze will run onto the kiln shelf.
  6. With a damp sponge, wipe off any excess glaze off the foot of plate, bowl and mug.
  7. Place on a high-fired kiln washed kiln shelf.
  8. Do Not Stilt and make sure the pieces are not hanging over the kiln shelf.
  9. Fire to shelf cone 5/6.
