Mayco is honored to have played a part in brightening the lives of children that visit The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem in North Carolina.

At the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Winston-Salem, families are provided a "home away from home" while their children are receiving medical care. From their House and Family Room programs, families are offered physical comforts, emotional support, education, and referral services to help support and promote the well-being of the whole family. The first Ronald McDonald House opened in 1974 in Philadelphia, PA. Today, over 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 52 countries provide the same programs to support the well-being for over 3 million families every year.

The RMH of Winston Salem was born in 1984 and opened its doors to 10 families a night. Thirteen years later, the House expanded to offering 17 bedrooms. In 2010, RMH Winston-Salem expanded with their most ambitious expansion and opened "House that Love Built" welcoming 35 families each night. During 2014, the RMH of Winston-Salem served their 10,000th family while celebrating 30 years of philanthropic service.

To celebrate their 30 years of service, Mayco donated 300 Heart Paperweights (MB-1322) and Softees® Acrylic paints for children to decorate and express themselves through art. Painting helps take their minds off upcoming hospital visits and check-ups during their stay in the Ronald McDonald House.

"The Ronald McDonald House Charity is a fantastic program, providing housing for families to be close to their children who are hospitalized. We were very happy to provide bisque and color, giving families a creative escape during very stressful times in their lives," said Colleen Carey, President & CEO of Mayco Colors.
