The world of surface decoration took a different turn when Mayco introduced Designer Silkscreens to the ceramics market. Sam Saville owns Let's Get Crafty, a mobile craft studio in North West London. Recently she was approached by a family friend who wanted an album cover by the band, GONG, reproduced on bisque. The lead singer of the band had passed away and Sam's friend, Simon, recognized that there would be a resurgence of people seeking memorabilia for the musical group. The band owned all the artwork and happily gave permission for it to be reproduced in the exchange for a few teapots. Not a bad deal! Same had worked on a project previously with the band that featured another album cover.
The most recent project featured a black design with a lot of detail - more than Sam wanted to repeatedly create by hand.
