15th Anniversary - Fall Paint Escape

Fall Paint Escape2015 TimStarted in 2000, Fall Paint Escape is a 3-day event that welcomes all types of artists. Gathered together are studio owners, hobby painters, art educators, and potters looking for new and innovative surface decoration ideas. The designed techniques for ceramic, glass and clay are only taught during this event. Generally anywhere from 9 to 12 pieces are featured with an entire assortment of the same surface decoration, but on various ceramic, glass and clay forms.

This year, for the 15th Anniversary, TimnJon Productions celebrated the fall season with “Monster Mash” as the theme. With Mayco Colors new release of abundant beautiful colors and products, the projects featured this year spotlighted many new colors and Creative Tools. Perfect for fall and the breathtaking colors pronouncing.

During Fall Paint Escape, Tim McPherson of TimnJon Productions, taught a new variety of ways of using and applying color with Creative Tools and other media. The projects presented are a starting point for attendees to utilize their creativity to create their own works. This year’s event was a tribute to Jon. With his recent passing, his techniques and patterns were featured throughout the 3-day event. A memorial bon fire also took place on Saturday night where his ashes were scattered at his second home, the Waterbird in Chesterton, Indiana.Fall Paint Escape2015 Jons.Memorial

In addition to attendees creating wonderfully artistic pieces, featured vendors attended and even taught a few projects of their own. Creative Paradise and Chesapeake Ceramics joined in the fun just as they have been part of the Fall Paint Escape event for many years.

With the variety of Creative Tools and colors used, displays of each technique were created for inspiration and visual aids. These displays are then raffled off for attendees to be awarded with the entire collection of pieces and props. But the fun didn’t stop there. There was also a silent auction for a special work of art that was decorated to match the “Monster Mash” theme. The winner of the silent auction also received free attendance to the 2016 Fall Paint Escape! Money raised from this auction is then donated to Stand Up 4 Cancer where this year it went to the Hospice center that took care of Jon.Fall Paint Escape2015

Mayco and Chesapeake have been a supporter of this event and help with the continued great success of Fall Paint Escape. We are all looking forward to next year’s event on October 8, 9, and 10, 2016.
