Although they look like high-fire glazes out of the kiln, Elements are low-fire glazes that have the effect of a high-fire glaze. What’s special about our Elements glazes is that they possess the unique quality of movement, which, in combination with our other products, creates beautiful variability. Because they expand differently from other glazes, Elements glazes are able to produce an incredible dripping effect that changes depending on different factors such as placement, type of bisque, coats, what it’s layered with, and at what cone it is fired. Adding a layer of Elements adds a layer of unsuspected depth to your work, as it picks up on colors and detailing that would normally pass unnoticed. It also slides around differently at different temperatures, which produces a stunning bleeding effect that’s difficult to imitate with a brush or tool.
