Mayco's 26 Foundations Sheer glazes provide an easy-to-apply, economical, smooth base coat with consistent firing performance. Add a tint of color to your work without compromising the integrity of brush strokes or the intricate detail of stamps, stencils, silkscreens or Designer Liner. To really show off the glaze, we suggest using Translucent glazes with a textured surface, such as Mayco's new Christmas themed casting molds or fall leaf dishes. The glaze will add accents of darker details in any crevices or sharp edge (our faceted shapes!) for a stunning antique effect. In addition, FN-219 Lustre Green and FN-218 Green Sapphire in the Elements line gives an incredible transparent coverage.
Add a level of sophistication and dimension to your design with Class Crackles. Designed to create crackle patterns during the firing process, traditionally used to create a vintage or antique appeal. The transparency of the Classic Crackles allows underlying designs to show through. to highlight the cracks, after firing wipe an acrylic or ink over the ware and wipe off, allowing the link to highlight the cracking effect. Mayco's assortment of 12 Stoneware Ice glazes are translucent in design, based on the Celadon aesthetic in pottery. Used alone, the glazes produce beautiful color variations, deepening with additional coats.
