Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 – 3 coats of FN-001 White to the top of the plate. Allow glaze to dry after each coat.
- Using a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, transfer the pattern to the MB-891 14” Asian Flair Plate.
- Using a CB-408 #8 Pointed Round, apply 3 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the red ornament, 3 coats of SC-27 Sour Apple to the green ornament, and 3 coats of SC-11 Blue Yonder to the blue ornament. Allow glaze to dry after each coat.
- Using AB-834 ¾” Base Coat brush, shade the red ornament with SC-81 Cinnamon Stix, the green ornament with SC-8 Just Froggy and the blue ornament with SC-76 Cara-bein Blue. Allow glaze to dry after each coat.
- Using a pencil, sketch the detail on each ornament using the photo for a reference, or substitute your own design.
- Using a CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, paint the detail and dots on the red ornament with SC-16 Cotton Tail. Detail the green ornament with SC-8 Just Froggy, and detail the blue ornament with SC-76 Cara-bein Blue and SC-16 Cotton Tail dots.
- Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-52 Toad-ily Green to the holly leaves with the CB-106 #6 Script Liner. Allow glaze to dry after each coat.
- Using CB-310 #10 Flat Shader, shade each holly leaf with SC-8 Just Froggy.
- Using CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, add SC-8 Just Froggy to the vine stems.
- Using CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-35 Gray Hare to the wire loops at the top of each ornament.
- Using CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, outline and add veins to the holly with SC-15 Tuxedo. Also add very fine outlines to the ornaments using SC-15 Tuxedo.
- Apply a boarder of 1/8” masking tape around the design. Apply MC-002 1/2” Masking Tape on each side of the 1/8” tape. Finally, remove the 1/8” masking tape.
- Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the 1/8” area. Remove the masking tape when the final coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale has lost its shine.
- Load AC-213 Sponge on a Stick with SC-8 Just Froggy. Tap the color onto the ST-107 Holly Border stamp, then press the stamp gently onto the rim of the plate. Continue stamping around the rim until the boarder is complete. Allow to dry.
