SECTION 11: TOXICOLOGY INFORMATION
Primary Route(s) of Entry: Dermal, Inhalation. The highest threat of inhalation exists during dispensing and mixing of dry products, excessive handling of dried, unfired glazed ware and/or during spray application.
Symptoms related to physical, chemical and toxicological characteristics: May cause mechanical irritation.
Additional information:
These mixtures contain silica, a know carcinogen. Inhalation is the only route of entry into the body that can cause Silicosis.
These water-based, premixed products should be non-toxic during recommended use.
Pigments are both organic chemicals and various metals and metal compounds (may contain one or more of following: iron, zinc, copper, aluminum, titanium, barium, manganese). Pigments may also contain ethylene glycol, diethyl glycol, talc, carbon black and other solvents.
The risk of exposure to these pigments is minimal due to the low percentage used in the formulas. Dermal exposure is negligible as these metals have poor dermal absorption.
Carbon Black is considered animal carcinogen. Silica (quartz) is considered a human carcinogen.
These products conform to ASTM-4236 and have been certified by an independent, 3rd party toxicologist to be NON TOXIC.
