Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, load with water to thin SC-7 Leapin’ Lizard and apply 1 thinned coat to the entire outside of the mug. Be aware of your brushstrokes because they will show. Allow to dry.
- With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper to transfer the lettering and the owl image to the mug.
- Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-24 Dandelion to the lettering and 2 coats to the frame around the owl.
- Next, apply 2 coats of SC-36 Irish Luck to the letters with the same brush, leaving a halo of the Dandelion peeking out from behind the letters.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, fill the owls body in with 2 coats of SC-26 Green Thumb.
- Apply 2 coats of SC-16 Cotton tail around the eyes and add some feathers to his chest.
- Apply 2 coats of SC-36 Irish Luck to the bird’s vest and hat.
- Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner add his beak, feet, bowtie, vest button, and hat buckle with 2 coats of SC-24 Dandelion.
- Apply, 1 coat of SC-15 Tuxedo to the bird’s eyes and strap around the hat.
- Outline the eyes with 1 coat of SC-36 Irish Luck.
- Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, add highlights to the eyes with SC-16 Cotton Tail and small feathers under the eyes with SC-26 Green Thumb.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-044 Yellow Orange to the inside of the mug. Allow to dry.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of S-2102 Crystal Clear Brushing to the outside of the mug. Or dip in Clear Glaze of Choice.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
