Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-011 to the inside of the bowl.
- Once dry, use AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper to transfer the pattern to the inside of the bowl. You may have cut a slit in the paper so it sits right in the bowl.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-41 Brown Cow to the branch. You may also have to use a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner near the ends of the branches.
- Continuing with the CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, stroke in 1 coat of SC-14 Java Bean randomly creating the look of bark. Do the same with SC-34 down to earth. Make the brushstrokes thicker and more frequent with SC-14 Java Bean making some strokes overlap. The SC-34 Down to Earth should be used more sparingly to create shadows in the bark.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-16 Cotton Tail to the breast of the bird. Once dry, apply 1 coat of SP-205 Speckled Tiger Tail to the top of the breast fading it out as you go down/
- Apply 3 coats of SP-274 Speckled Hot Tamale to the rest of the bird’s body.
- Using a CB 202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-5 Tiger Tail to the beak and feet. Also, apply 1 coat of SC-15 Tuxedo to the eye and the lines on the wings.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-36 Irish Luck to the holly leaves.
- Using the same brush, apply 1 blop of SC-82 Tuscan Red to make the berries.
- Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 1 coat SC-73 Candy Apple Red to highlight the berries and 1 coat of SC-7 Leapin’ Lizard to highlight the leaves.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-006 Blue to the back of the bowl.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2-3 coats of SG-302 Snowfall around the lip of the bowl by the branch and as random dots on the inside of the bowl.
- Let dry completely.
- Stilt and fire to shelf con 06/05.
